About Jim

Jim Justice is Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and Resource Management for Kalsec, Inc. He grew up in the Kalamazoo area, earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Tech, and completed some graduate-level coursework at the University of Tennessee. Following eight years in the pulp and paper industry, Jim was recruited to Kalsec as the Plant Engineer in 1995. Over the past 25 years, Jim has grown with Kalsec, from maintenance and engineering roles to manufacturing leadership roles, including Director of Engineering and Vice President of Corporate Manufacturing.

About Ian

Ian Kennedy is Senior Vice President and Global General Counsel for Kalsec, Inc. Born and raised in Traverse City, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Alma College. He then went to Notre Dame Law School, earning his Juris Doctor with honors. In law school, he met his wife Sarah, a Kalamazoo native, and started his career at the law firm of Cooper, Martin & Chojnowski, P.C. Specializing in corporate, real estate, and employment law, he became a partner in 2009. The firm subsequently joined Warner, Norcross & Judd in 2013, opening its Kalamazoo office. As a partner at Warner, Ian began doing work for Kalsec and transitioned to in-house counsel with the company in 2017.
